Ministries

Cleaning Ministry

One of the greatest ways you can help serve at the Barn is through our cleaning ministry. Our cleaning is done completely through the service of volunteers. It is important that our church is welcoming to guests, so we greatly appreciate those who feel led to lend a helping hand. The cleaning crew meets on Saturday mornings from 8:00-9:30 a.m. for coffee, fellowship, prayer, and cleaning.

Usher Ministry

The Usher Ministry serves in two important ways. First, the ushers assist those attending Calvary Chapel Blue Island. Ushers greet everyone with a smile and can help with finding seating, directing people to where they need to go, or offering a word of prayer when needed. Secondly, the ushers provide a type of security for the entire church, from the parking lot to the sanctuary to every other place in the building. We want everyone attending our church to know they can always find an usher nearby prepared to assist.

Greeting Ministry

Greeters help those who come through the doors of the church feel at home. Their responsibility is to help all who enter the doors of the church feel joy, sincerity, importance, peace, and comfort. Helping everyone feel welcome is so important to our church.

Worship Ministry

At Calvary Chapel Blue Island, our time of worship is important to our ministry of the Word. Through song and prayer, we align our hearts with God and enter into His presence, where we can best receive what His Spirit will reveal to us through the Bible lesson. Our services feature contemporary praise and worship music, as well as some more traditional hymns and songs. Worship time consists of both prayer and music, and the focus is solely on Jesus Christ.

Audio/Visual Ministry

The mission of the Audio/Visual Ministry is to maintain and operate the sound, video, and recording equipment for all worship services and activities in the sanctuary. Our goal is to be as transparent as possible in assisting the worship team and pastor by providing quality sound and video support. We desire to spread the word of God by creating quality worship and sermon media, including CDs, podcasts, and Internet-accessible archives of all sermons and special events. | av@ccbarn.com

Children's Ministry

At CCBI, we love children and teaching them about God and His Word. Our Children's Ministry actively partners with parents to encourage every family to make a whole-life commitment to Jesus Christ. We seek to engage each child with fun and creative age-appropriate programs which help build a strong spiritual foundation. It is our desire for our Children's Ministry to support parents in bringing their children to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Our classes are broken down into the following age groups:

NURSERY  |  Ages 2 and younger
  Pre-K  |  Ages 3-6
  Elementary  |  Ages 7-11
  Youth Group  |  Ages 12-18

Open Door Ministry

This is a ministry that provides clothing, food, and hygienic supplies for the needy in the community of Blue Island and surrounding areas. Our mission is to minister, without charge, to children and low-income families and individuals. Our ministries are done in a non-threatening, caring, and nurturing environment that preserves the human dignity of our guests and encourages positive self-regard. Together we are striving to make a difference in the lives of others.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry (7th-12th Grade) teaches discipleship at this important part of a young person's life. The Youth fellowship stresses that young people consider decisions to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and their own relationship with God, while at the same time forming relationships that honor the Lord.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered program with foundations firmly established in Biblical truth. The 12 Steps with accompanying Scriptures and the 8 Principles based on the Beatitudes offer participants a clear path of salvation and discipleship; bring hope, freedom, sobriety, healing, and the opportunity to give back one day at a time through our one and only true Higher Power, Jesus Christ. The 12 Steps and the 8 Principles work seamlessly together, tying historical recovery to timeless Biblical teaching. Contact us for more information.

He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven
and which are on earth—in Him.
